We take pride in delivering the latest Glendale news and information about local government initiatives.

Mike Mohill was a regular writer in our two local newspapers, providing essential community updates. In 2012, Mike and Lorraine founded Your Glendale Community Newsletter, which began with a few hundred readers and today boasts nearly 25,000 subscribers. Our all-volunteer newsletter has always been self-funded without advertisements. In 2026, Mike decided to expand our readership through a website, prompting us to ask our readers for gifts to sustain our newsletter and continue providing valuable Glendale news.
Mike has always had a keen interest in local government and history. In 1955, Mike’s father, a finish carpenter, built his dream home in Glendale near the Glendale Sports Center off Fern Lane Street. Since age 12, Mike attended Glendale schools, graduating from Glendale High School in 1960. He then attended Los Angeles City College and later transferred to California State College, Los Angeles, where he graduated with a B.A. in Geography and a minor in Business Administration. For nearly 27 years, he worked as a traveling salesman.
After college, Mike served three years in the US Army, including one year in Vietnam. He married his wife in 1970 and became a Glendale homeowner in 1977. He actively fought against government overreach regarding the Indigenous Trees Ordinance on private property, which brought him to the Glendale City Council, making him a familiar face in the community. In 2011, he became a Glendale City Council spoiler candidate against Councilman Dave Weaver and John Drayman, successfully getting 'honest' John out of office, who later went to jail and became a three-time convicted felon. Since then, Mike has run for City Council three additional times.
In addition to his political endeavors, Mike was also a founding member of the Glendale Coalition for Better Government, further showcasing his commitment to improving our local community.
Mike Mohill and his team of community volunteers bring you the latest in Glendale City municipal and school board politics. We pride ourselves on accuracy in exposing issues that are important to Glendale residents.
